The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has issued its Request for Proposal (RFP) to pre-qualified proponents selected to bid on the Niagara Gaming Bundle.
This is the RFP that Niagara's politicians were hoping to stop and have the wording changed.
Regional Chair Alan Caslin and Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati have both said the current wording could put 1400 jobs at the casinos in jeopardy.
The OLG wants to select one service provider to run day-to-day gaming operations at Casino Niagara and Fallsview Casino Resort.
The successful service provider will also be responsible for operating the future Niagara Falls Entertainment Centre.
Details of the RFP and names of pre-qualified proponents will not be released by OLG while the process is ongoing.
The OLG also stating there will be no further communication about the RFP until the selected service provider is announced in the summer of 2018.
Elected officials from Niagara along with 350 plus employees and community members from across the Region head to Queens Park tomorrow for a rally.
They hope to pressure the Liberal government to change the process for hiring the new service provider for the Niagara Casinos
