The Niagara Region will be preserving outgoing councillor's iPads following direction from Ontario's Ombudsman.
As Paul Dube continues his investigation into the allegedly tainted hiring process surrounding the region's CAO, The St. Catharines Standard reports he has ordered all regional iPads be maintained in their current condition.
Typically, outgoing councillors can buy the devices from the region at the end of their term, or the devices are wiped clean and used again.
Earlier this year, the paper published a series of articles alleging Niagara's current CAO Carmen D'Angelo had help during the hiring process in the form of documents including interview questions and suggested responses as well as information about other candidates.
