One person has been arrested during the most recent R.I.D.E. check.
The NRP stopped over 500 vehicles Friday night within the cities of Niagara Falls and Thorold.
Of those drivers stopped, 10 of them were required to provide breath samples for suspected alcohol consumption.
As a result of those breath samples, one driver was arrested for impaired driving resulting in a mandatory 90-day drivers licence suspension and 7-day vehicle impoundment.
An additional driver also received a 3-day drivers licence suspension.
In addition to the alcohol-related charges and suspensions, officers issued over a dozen Provincial tickets to drivers in contravention of the Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
The NRP wants to remind you that, while the holiday season is a time to visit friends and family, drivers need to plan ahead so everyone can arrive alive.
