A city in Niagara has decided to crack down on runaway grocery carts.
Port Colborne Mayor Bill Steele says the city will be collecting abandoned carts and selling them back to the stores for $50.
He says in one day 31 carts were discovered.
He says the issue is a big problem in the downtown core.
Steele says they are being progressive in how the city looks, and if the city is responsible for collecting them they should be compensated.
