Niagara police stopped about 400 motorists in festive RIDE spot checks in Fort Erie and St. Catharines Friday night.
A dozen drivers were given breathalyzers after admitting to consuming alcohol. One registered an alert and their license was suspended for three days.
Several other motorists were randomly selected to give breath samples after entering the RIDE checkpoint.
One driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving.
Another driver also received a three-day license suspension.
A driver was also charged under the Cannabis Act for having care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available to them.
