A new poll finds 51 percent of Ontarians say the high cost of electricity will influence who they vote for in the next provincial election.
The poll by Innovative Research, commissioned by the Ontario Energy Association, also found Ontarians don't want to pay more for hydro in an effort to fund improvements to the system.
56 percent of respondants say improvements should be paid for by reducing waste and finding efficiencies.
It was just this month, Ontario's Liberal government announced it would eliminate the HST from our hydro bills, starting in January, in an effort to placate voters and bring down the cost of electricity.
