The Ontario government announced today it is investing over $500 million to build 30 new schools, and one of them will be in Niagara.
The province has given the District School Board of Niagara and the Niagara Catholic District School Board approvals for a new joint elementary school in Wainfleet.
The new school will support the consolidation William E. Brown and Winger Schools and the replacement of the existing St. Elizabeth Catholic Elementary School.
The school will be able to accommodate 590 new elementary students, 49 new licensed child care spaces, and 3 new child care rooms.
“The funding for this new joint elementary school is great news for our community,” said Sam Oosterhoff, MPP for Niagara West. “This investment will provide a quality learning environment and new opportunities for the children of Wainfleet.”
