Premier Ford announcing yesterday the province will remove the cost of the now cancelled cap and trade program from our natural gas bills.
Ford says the change means we will save about 80 bucks a year heating our homes.
But the move may come with a steep price, federal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna says province's that dont get on board with Ottawa's climate change plan will forefeit their share of a two billion dollar federal fund.
She adds now that Ontario has cancelled the cap and trade system, Ottawa is reviewing the $420 million slated for the province from its low carbon economy fund.
Ottawa is giving provinces until the weekend to submit their climate change plans.
