Ontario Premier Doug Ford says while the province is extending its state of emergency for another 28 days, work continues to re-open the province.
Ford says that health officials continue to meet regularly to discuss how to best restart the province's economy.
Ford says the extension does not mean re-opening is on hold "we are working around the clock to move ahead with economic re-opening".
Ontario has been under a state of emergency since March 17th, which has been extended several times.
The move does mean restrictions on social gatherings will stay in place, and some businesses and recreational areas will remain closed.
