Health Minister Christine Elliott says the province is talking with long-term care home operators about ensuring workers are given N-95 respirator masks.
Elliot made the comment after the union representing workers in the homes accused the province of trying to ``water down'' guidelines that give members access to the masks.
She says every worker who wants a mask during the COVID-19 pandemic should have one -- but there are limits to the number of masks the province can procure right now.
Elliott says the government has also talked to the unions about the potential to re-use N-95s if they can be properly disinfected.
