O-P-P say a rather stubborn beaver caused part of a southern Ontario highway to be shut down until the animal could be moved away.
Sergeant Kerry Schmidt says the beaver was spotted sitting on a storm drain against a concrete dividing barrier on Highway 7/8 in Cambridge.
He says officers tried to shoo the animal across the road to the ditch, but it refused to move and wildlife control had to be called in.
Schmidt says the beaver was eventually captured and safely taken back to its natural habitat.
