Don't expect any changes to Ontario's COVID restrictions for the next month.
Health Minister Christine Elliot says the province is taking a four-week pause before considering loosening any further COVID-19 restrictions.
She says taking a pause in further re-opening will help avoid broad-scale closures and shutdowns.
The move comes as the province reported 375 new cases over the past two days.
Elliot says in a tweet that Ontario needs to do everything it can to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on the first day that many students are returning to school.
Based on advice from the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Ontario will take four-week pause – or two, 14-day cycles of the virus – before considering any further loosening of public health measures or reopening additional businesses, facilities and organizations.
