Ontario is looking to flex some muscle against American states that choose to adopt Buy American provisions.
While in Washington for meetings with various US lawmakers yesterday, Premier Kathleen Wynne told The Canadian Press that her government will introduce a bill this month allowing it to retaliate against any state that engages in procurement protectionism.
The premier says she has to stand up for Ontario businesses and workers in a proportional way and not "roll over."
Wynne is in New York City today where she will take part in roundtable discussions, including one on NAFTA.
