The Progressive Conservatives are touting a salary directive issued today to Hydro One in a fundraising campaign.
The directive orders the partially privatized utility to cap the salary of its C-E-O at 1.5-million dollars per year -- just over half of what Hydro One says is needed to attract and retain highly qualified leadership.
Less than two hours after it was announced by Energy Minister Greg Rickford, the P-C party sent out an email to supporters in Premier Doug Ford's name highlighting his government's actions and asking for money.
Hydro One confirms it received the directive but isn't saying much more than the board will continue to focus on its search for a new C-E-O.
