While many people have snapped up free Parks Canada passes for this year, Ontario officials say they won't be valid in provincial parks.
The Parks Canada Discovery Pass allows free access to all national parks to mark Canada's 150th birthday, although camping, tours and other services will still cost a fee.
Ontario Parks says on its blog that provincial parks aren't part of the deal, and neither are the province's conservation areas and regional forests.
The blog says people should be sure to check which parks are which, noting that while many people think Algonquin Park is a national park, it's actually a provincial park.
