The Ford government will introduce new legislation today governing the licensing and regulation of the sale of marijuana.
Under the new rules, unveiled yesterday, residents across the province will be allowed to smoke weed wherever cigarettes can be smoked.
Attorney General Caroline Mulroney says they are aligning the new pot regulations with the Smoke Free Ontario Act.
The province also says it won't put a cap on the number of private pot shops that will be allowed to operate in the province.
However, the government had said earlier this summer it would allow municipalities a one time chance to opt out of having any pot shops in their cities or towns.
The bill will also appoint the Alcohol and Gaming Commission as the regulator for the marketplace.
