Ontario's youngest MPP says he was stunned, shocked and dismayed to hear about the allegations made against Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown.
Niagara West-Glanbrook PC MPP Sam Oosterhoff tells CKTB he received a call from his caucus leader while the news broke last night.
He said he was in shock and he didn't see this coming.
He says it's disturbing and he never heard or witnessed anything that would suggest inappropriate behaviour.
He described Brown as hardworking, and says he didn't have a lot of interaction with him given that the leader travels frequently.
Oosterhoff says he's already looking beyond the controversy and wants to focus on the future of the party.
The 20 year old politician will be there tomorrow for a meeting at 9am to select a candidate to lead the PC's.
He wouldn't say who he would like to see lead the party, just that it has to be a person that will unify and strengthen it.
M-P-P Vic Fedeli says he'll let his name stand as his party's caucus meets tomorrow to choose an interim leader following the resignation.
Premier Kathleen Wynne says she will not seek a snap election, adding that it's too early to know what impact Brown's resignation will have on the political landscape.
Election day is June 7th.
