Ontario Senator Lynn Beyak, who once said "some good'' came out of Canada's residential schools, has been removed from the Conservative Party caucus.
Opposition Leader Andrew Scheer says the decision was made after Beyak refused to remove a "racist'' comment from her website.
Scheer says Beyak had posted some 100 letters in support of her position on residential schools to her Parliamentary website and asked her to remove one that suggested Indigenous People want to get things for "no effort.''
Beyak first gained notoriety last spring when she suggested residential schools were not all bad and that the "good deeds'' of some people who worked in the schools was being overshadowed by negative reports.
