The province is considering groundbreaking changes to Ontario's existing child protection law.
For the first time children will be given a say over decisions made relating to their welfare.
The changes stem from a coroners inquest into the death of 7 year old Katelynn Sampson who was killed by her legal guardians in 2008
The inquest recommended a number of measures now known as Katelynn's Principal which states children must be listened to and respected when decisions are made about their welfare.
