It's the day parents and students in Niagara have been waiting for, the provincial government is set to announce its back-to-school plan.
The province has been considering the plan for months asking individual school boards to submit their proposals based on three options.
Those three options being, a full return to school, a continuation of online classes, or a hybrid model that combines the two.
Meantime, experts at Sick Kids Hospital have updated their recommendations for a safe return to school full time, including guidelines that acknowledge making masks mandatory could be a complicated task.
They now propose that students in high school and middle school wear a mask when physical distancing is an issue.
Premier Doug Ford and Education Minister Stephen Lecce are slated to hold a news conference at 1 p.m. this afternoon.
