The 19-year-old Progressive Conservative nominee in the Niagara West-Glanbrook byelection opened his office over the weekend.
Sam Oosterhoff was nominated to run for former-P-C leader Tim Hudack's old seat last week.
The social conservative was joined by party leader Patrick Brown at the campaign office on Ontario Street in Beamsville.
On his campaign website, Oosteroff says he will fight to bring down hydro rates, as well as fight for the rights of municipalities to refuse projects such as the West Lincoln wind turbines, and to keep pushing for increased funding for West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Oosterhoff does not mention his previous opposition to the new sex ed curriculum, only saying "he will never waver in his support of parents as primary educators, and will strive to ensure that parental rights are respected in education."
Also running in the riding is Vicky Ringuette for the Liberals, Donna Cridland for the Green Party, and Mike Thomas for the NDP.
The by-election will be held November 17th.
