It might seem like a no-brainer to most of us, but the OPP in Perth have put out a reminder that a case of beer isn't a suitable replacement for a car-seat.
On Tuesday morning around 2:30 a.m. the OPP stopped a sedan in the village of Atwood.
While talking with the 22 year old driver, they noticed a two year old was sitting on a 30 can case of beer.
The driver from Wellington North was charged with failure to ensure a toddler is properly secured and a proper child seat was brought to the location while Family and Children's Services were called.
Any child in a passenger vehicle that has not reached 8-years-old or 80 lbs or 4'9" must be secured in some form of booster-seat or child-seat. Those under 40 lbs will require a child-seat and those under 22lbs will require a rear facing child-seat.
