It's the time of year wildlife becomes more active, and OPP are providing some tips on how to avoid hitting an animal on the road.
Norfolk County OPP says whatever you do, don't veer for wildlife because by changing your direction quickly, you increase the risk of losing control, running off the roadway and rolling your vehicle.
The warning comes after a driver collided with several trees last week while trying to avoid hitting an animal.
Police say drivers should reduce their speed as much as possible, quickly, and then steer straight.
Always be mindful of your surroundings because deer or wildlife will often run across the road from ditches and protected areas.
