The move to allow restaurants and bars to expand onto city streets is meeting with some opposition in Niagara Falls.
Council will be asked to revisit a pair of street closures during tomorrow's council meeting.
The lawyer representing a parking lot owner wants an end to the closure of Centre Street between Victoria and Ellen saying it only benefits two restaurants and is blocking access to businesses from Clifton Hill.
Council will also be presented with a petition demanding Queen Street be reopened from Buckley to Crysler Avenue.
The petition, spearheaded by a local businessman, argues there is enough room for restaurants to expand their patios onto the sidewalk without having to close the roadway and eliminate much needed parking spots.
