More than 4 million Ontarians are registered organ and tissue donors but the Trillium Gift of Life Network says more still needs to be done.
The number of organ and tissue donations is increasing and the waiting list for transplants is also continuing to grow.
There are currently about 1,630 people on the transplant waiting list, up from about 1,527 at the end of 2017.
The good news is heart transplant patients waited fewer average days than ever before last year.
However there was an unprecedented 195 lung transplants last year, a figure that is up 75 per cent in the last five years.
