The federal government is rolling vaping products into laws governing tobacco.
It has passed legislation that gives Health Canada the power to order plain packaging for e-cigarettes.
Once it receives royal assent and becomes law, the bill will prohibit the sale of vaping products to minors, restrict certain forms of advertising for these products and ban certain flavours.
The new packaging rules for tobacco prohibit promotional information and branding, including logos.
Large tobacco companies are opposed to these changes, because they will have to remove their brands from packages.
