A motion was tabled today at Queen's Park asking the province to keep pushing daily GO Transit service towards Niagara.
NDP Municipal Affairs critic, and Niagara Centre MPP Jeff Burch tabled the motion today.
Burch says previous governments have paid lip service to GO train expansion and yet years later, Niagara communities are still left without it.
“We’re tired of empty promises by both Liberal and Conservative governments and it’s time we finally made year-round GO service a priority,” Burch said. “Our communities are tired of Ford’s waffling. Fast, convenient, and affordable transit is the best way to break gridlock, help our economy grow, and help families spend more time together.”
Conservative Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff thanked Burch for advocating for GO Train, but says his PC government is already committed to the project.
