The Lincoln County Humane Society is in touch with the owner of a runaway lizard that stopped traffic in the Garden City.
The dangerous water monitor lizard was spotted crossing Westchester Crescent a week ago Friday.
It made its way to a backyard on Clayburn Avenue where the homeowner put a blue bin over it - trapping the creature until animal rescue arrived
LCHS executive director Kevin Strooband says there may be an option for a charge, but the main thing is that it's not in the city anymore.
The lizard, which is prohibited under St. Catharines' bylaws, will be moved to Reptilia Reptile Kingdom in Vaughan.
