Chris Paquette scored twice but the IceDogs late game comeback fell short losing 6-5 to Erie at the Meridian Centre.
Matthew Phillip got the scoring underway in the first with his third of the year, shirt-handed. Erie would tie it a little over two minutes later in the period where they out-shot Niagara 15-8.
Paquette's first of two in the second regained the one goal advantage, before Erie would strike twice to end the period up 3-2. Once again, the Otters bettered the Dogs in shots on goal 14-10.
Paquette scored his fourth of the year, unassisted a little over four minutes into the third to tie it at 3. Erie's response, three unanswered to make it 6-3. Aaron Haydon's first at 18:28 and Ryan Mantha's third 29 seconds later made it a one goal game, but the home side would get no closer. Final shots favoured Erie 37-33.
