We are now hearing some of the reasons why former St.Catharines resident, Paul Bernardo was denied parole this month.
The Toronto Sun detailing some of the reasons including the fact that Bernardo is "still obsessed with the sexual component of a relationship".
The parole board did not give a reason on October 17th when Bernardo was denied parole, but since then the board has released its written reasons.
One of the reasons in the Toronto Sun article include a 2014 relationship with a woman he was communicating with by letters and phone calls.
"Your communication with her was highly sexualized and had similarities to your crime cycle," the reasons state. "Mental health staff were concerned about how quickly you became infatuated with this woman and questioned your motivation."
The 54 year old told the parole board that he feels horrible about his crimes and that he cries everyday.
Bernardo was convicted of two counts each of first degree murder, kidnapping, forcible confinement, aggravated sexual assault and one count of committing an indignity to a human body for the rapes and murders of 14 year old Leslie Mahaffy of Burlington and 15 year old Kristen French from St.Catharines.
He has also admitted to manslaughter and raping at least 24 other women.
