As the forest fire known as "Parry Sound 33" inches closer to the Trans Canada highway, fire crews are being diverted to the area in the hopes of keeping it contained.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Natural Resources says they have moved crews battling massive wildfires in the northwest of the province to cottage country now that the flames are just six kilometres from Highway 69.
Chris Marchand says while fires in the northwest are three times the size of "Parry Sound 33", 33 threatens more property and lives.
Meantime, firefighters are asking people in cottage country not to fly drones in the area.
The OPP reminding people flying drones within nine kilometres of a forest fire is prohibited and interferes with the fire fighting efforts.
Fines are in the neighbourhood of $3,000.
