A part of a popular St. Catharines beach will be partially closed this weekend.
City officials say that a 30 by 20 metre part of Lakeside Park Beach will be closed on the West side.
The closure is for restoration where three large trees were felled and pieces of debris have been unearthed by the receding high lake levels.
Officials estimate that 90 per cent of Lakeside Park Beach is still open.
The work will not affect the Lakeside Park Carousel or the playground.
Lake Ontario reached its highest levels since 1918 earlier this summer, resulting in parts of Lakeside Beach being underwater.
