Just days after patients with a Burlington dental clinic were warned they may have been exposed to improperly cleaned instruments used in procedures, comes another warning this one involving a Hamilton doctor.
Hamilton public health warning an infection and control inspection by the College of Physicians and Surgeons, has identified patients of Doctor Lorin Harding, may have also been exposed to improperly cleaned instruments.
The exposure may have come during minor office based surgical procedures involving the removal of skin tags, warts, moles and cysts or biopsies of skin cancers.
Public health officials warning individuals who underwent the procedures should contact their primary care provider to discuss testing for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
The officials say corrective action has been taken and the physician now meets the required infection prevention and control standards.
