Fire crews from across the region continue to battle a blaze in Port Colborne.
The blaze at Vinyl Works Canada on Barber Drive began shortly after 7:30 a.m.
The facility reportedly mainly manufactures ladders and gates for above ground pools
Early reports indicate 8 or 9 employees were able to evacuate the building.
Firefighters from across Niagara remain on scene as they try to tame the blaze with water being trucked in.
There are also reports crews are trying to break through the ice coating the nearby canal to access that water as well.
Fire officials say a barrier has been formed to protect the canal.
In the meantime, the Town of Fort Erie says an air sample near the perimeter of town has tested negative for toxic chemicals, but residents are still urged to stay inside until further notice.
Crews expect to be on scene for the remainder of the day and at least into the night after being forced to draw back when the building collapsed.
No word yet on a possible cause.
