The town of Pelham has issued a coyote warning after a large coyote was spotted behind Beechwood Crescent and Kunda Park area.
The Ministry of Natural Resources advising residents to keep your dogs leashed and close to you while out walking and ensure cats remain indoors especially during dusk to dawn when coyotes are most active.
The advisory, posted on the towns website, asks residents to call the Ministry if they have a coyote sighting or concern, at 905-562-4147.
January to March is mating season for the coyotes and the animals will tend to come a little closer and pose more of a threat to household pets that are outside.
