We now know who will represent The Crown in the case of a Niagara Regional Police officer accused with attempted murder.
In late November, the Special Investigations Unit was called in after reports that a cop had shot a fellow officer during an altercation at the scene of a crash investigation in Pelham.
Last week we learned the SIU had arrested Sergeant Shane Donovan and charged him with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and assault with a weapon.
According to a report from St. Catharines Standard report Bill Sawchuk, Ian Bulmer will lead the proceedings.
Bulmer was also involved in the prosecution of Toronto Police Constable James Forcillio after a teenager with a knife was shot and killed on a streetcar in 2013.
Forcillo was convicted of attempted murder in the death of Sammy Yatim.
