It may be a combative meeting of regional council, October 5th.
The town of Pelham sending a resolution it wants included on the regional agenda asking that a line be drawn in the sand, so to speak.
The town is requesting regional council reaffirm the "Spheres of Jurisdiction" between regional and muncipal government as outlined in the Ontario Municipal Act.
The move comes after the region's audit committee supported a motion to endorse a $50,000 cheque from a Niagara on the Lake developer to conduct an audit into an east Fonthill development.
In the resolution sent to the region, Pelham council notes " accepting that money grants wealth great influence and privilege in municipal decision making."
During their Monday night council meeting Pelham councillors voted to hire a third party firm to conduct an independant audit into the development.
