Look up to see one of the cosmos' most beautiful meteor displays.
Stargazers will see between 10 - 15 meteors per hour tonight as the Perseid shower reaches it's peak tonight and tomorrow.
Hailed by experts as one of the best meteor showers of the year, the show is best witnessed between 2 a.m. and dawn when the skies are darkest.
The shower is best seen with a wide field of vision, so leave the telescope and binoculars behind!
NASA representatives also encourage would-be watchers to avoid using your phone while watching the showers, so your eyes will better adjust to the dark and you'll be able to see more in the night sky.
Unfortunately, the moon will be shining brightly tonight, washing out some of the streaks of light.
The meteors are caused by debris left behind by the Comet Swift-Tuttle.
