A picture of the Port Dalhousie Pier lighthouse close to being underwater is going viral.
Bruce Leigh snapped the picture last week before Monday's rainstorm that brought 50mm of rain to the region.
The image of the pier completely underwater and the spray painted lighthouse almost floating on top of the water has received 840 shares on Leigh's Facebook page alone.
Leigh tells CKTB he has been in Niagara for 5 years, and never seen water levels that high.
He says the image has the most amount of shares he's ever had for a photo.
Leigh describes himself as a amateur photographer for past 50 years or so.
He says he went back to the beach on Friday and a crew was repairing the beach and putting up fencing prior to Monday's storm.
Many people are commenting on Leigh's photo expressing their disbelief and concern over global warming.
Niagara is under a heavy rainfall warning with 40-70mm of rain on the way.
