The long talked about Thorold Stone Road extension in Niagara Falls is moving ahead.
The region's public works committee giving staff the greenlight to begin the design process and to start talks with property owners to buy up the necessary land.
The preferred plan is to extend the roadway past the Gale Centre to the CN Rail tracks and build a roundabout at the corner of the Victoria and Bridge Street where the extension will end.
It's hoped the extension will be completed in time for the introduction of year round GO train service to Niagara.
