Toronto police say they've wrapped a four-month search of Bruce McArthur's apartment as their investigation into the alleged serial killer continues.
McArthur, a 66-year-old self-employed landscaper, was arrested in January and faces eight counts of first-degree murder in connection with the disappearances of several men, most of whom had ties to Toronto's gay village.
Investigators had been conducting a forensic search of McArthur's north Toronto apartment since his arrest, and say they've collected more than 1,800 exhibits and taken over 18,000 photos of the unit and its contents.
Police say the search of the apartment has now ended and it has been turned over to building management.
They say the search of the unit, combined with the search of crime scenes and vehicles related to the McArthur's case, has made this the largest forensic examination in Toronto police history.
McArthur is scheduled to return to court May 23.
