Police didn't have to go too far to arrest a suspect wanted in a theft investigation in West Lincoln.
The NRP and Fraud Unit investigators were at the Robert Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines this afternoon for the bail hearing of a suspect arrested yesterday in the alleged fraud and theft of construction equipment from Havana Group.
46 year old Steven Sardinha was appearing in court facing a laundry list of charges including theft over $5000, and mischief over $5000.
While at the courthouse, police located a second suspect who was wanted in the same case.
As officers tried to arrest the suspect, there was a struggle, but eventually he was taken into custody.
58 year old Grant Norton of Cambridge has been arrested and charged with theft over $5000, mischief over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime, utter threats, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and resist peace officer.
His bail hearing will take place tomorrow.
