It's not clear what happened but Niagara Regional Police briefly closed one lane of traffic on the Burgoyne Bridge in St.Catharines.
Police were called to the bridge at 5:45pm where they blocked traffic from leaving the downtown core, sending cars down Yates Street.
Another cruiser could be seen parked near the entrance of the bridge near the embankment.
There were NO closures on the 406.
The bridge has been in the news lately with two suicides taking place within a week.
Various agencies met this week to discuss ways to help people in need of mental health help including installing signs at the bridge.
We have reached out to the NRP to see what sparked this afternoon's brief closure.
