Police continue to investigate a sudden death in Welland involving a 5 month old boy.
The home where he died in the King Street and Albert Street has now been released.
Detectives continue to work with the office of the Coroner as they await the results of the post mortem.
Police were first called to the home on Sunday night just before 7 p.m. where emergency services tried to resuscitate the boy, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Constable Phil Gavin tells us the homicide unit is involved, but, as a matter of protocol, the unit is called in anytime someone under the age of 5 dies.
