Multiple police agencies across the province teamed up to complete the largest fentanyl seizure by Ontario police.
Back in April, police launched Project JAVELIN to investigate suspected methamphetamine production in the Durham and Halton regions.
As the investigation continued, officials discovered suspects were actually trafficking fentanyl pills in Ontario and BC.
On May 30th police arrested 30 year old Halid Sefic of Burlington, 34 year old Edin Sefic of Burlington, and 56 year old Richard Atanasoff of Toronto
After the arrests, five search warrants were issued for suspected tableting and storage sites in Oakville and Burlington.
During the searches officers seized 123,700 fentanyl pills, 70 kg of fentanyl powder, 300 kg of bulk powder used as a binding agent, one commercial-sized pill press, one industrial pill press with counterfeit tableting stamp, three commercial-sized mixers, one pill coating machine, 700 empty pharmacy-sized pill bottles, one roll of fraudulent Teva-Oxycocet labels, one pill bottling tableting table, and $20,000 in cash.
The trio are due in court in September.
