Niagara Regional Police are investigating a number of car fires in downtown St. Catharines.
They say there have been two fires within two weeks.
This follows a post on social media showing a burnt up box of cookies that was found in the area between Ontario Street and Lake Street.
The post claims the 'tinder box' gets filled with flammable items and perforations on the bottom allow the fire to breathe.
Jack Profijt, who posted the photo, says the box was found under a neighbour's car after the heavy rain.
Fortunately, he says, because of the heavy rain the fire was unable to start and no harm was done this time.
Anyone with information, or security footage in the area, is asked to contact Det. Lori Coristine at ext. (1009073) or Crimestoppers.
