The City of Port Colborne is throwing more support behind the arts as they enter into a new partnership with the Lighthouse Festival Theatre.
The two organizations signed a five-year partnership to run the Roselawn Centre Theatre starting in mid-April.
Currently, the theatre troupe uses the centre to host Showboat Festival Theatre during the summer months but this new partnership will allow the thespians to expand to year-round programming.
"We are thrilled at this opportunity to continue to build upon the success of our own summer productions, while also increasing programming and use of the building year-round," Artistic Director of Lighthouse Festival Theatre Derek Ritschel says via a release. "Together, we can transform this underutilized building into a thriving arts and cultural facility for the region."
The city will also use the centre as a cultural hub, offering community and instructional space for the public, not-for-profit organizations, and schools.
