Carlos Garcia will present a motion to council Monday asking for advice from the Ministry of Natural Resources on how to deal with them.
He says residents are concerned about what seems like an increasing population of coyotes.
Most of the concern is the area of Jaycee and Westcliffe Parks.
Garcia tells the Standard he and fellow ward councillor Bruce Williamson have received emails and complaints over the years.
However, they have always been told the city has no jurisdiction over wildlife.
Garcia says he's heard from residents that sightings happen at all times of the day and the coyotes are bold.
