Another step forward for the Port Dalhousie Piers:
The federal Ministry of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard announcing the contract to rehabilitate the piers has been awarded to Bronte Construction out of Oakville.
The $26.3 million dollar contract means construction will be starting in early 2019, with hopes to complete the work by March of 2021.
Once the repair work is complete, the federal government will hand responsibilities for the piers over the city of St. Catharines.
