Niagara Regional Police are pleased with the results from a weekend R.I.D.E check.
Police stopped a total of 600 drivers at checkpoints in Welland and Thorold over the weekend and only 5 roadside tests were required and only two drivers received 3-day licence suspensions.
Police issued a few other tickets for various highway traffic act infractions.
Overall police said they're happy to see people arranging other means to get home after a night of drinking, and an increased number of designated drivers.
